Introduction

In light of the department’s upcoming academic initiatives, including the new Integrated M.Sc. & Ph.D. Program (to be proposed soon) and the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP) in 2025, we anticipate a significant increase in the number of students and faculty members. These developments require infrastructure upgradation to enhance the quality of teaching and research.
Currently, our department has only two classrooms, each of capacity 50, for conducting the lectures of 5-year IDD course program. These classrooms are even without any facility of microphone /audio system or projector. Therefore, to launch the new programs and cater to the increasing demands of creating highly interactive teaching environment, we urgently require an upgradation of these classrooms to smart classrooms.
We are therefore proposing the development and construction of smart classroom system in our existing 2 classrooms and one seminar room in the department. These advanced classrooms will incorporate upto-date digital tools and resources designed to promote interactive, personalized learning experiences. To make this need a reality, we seek alumni contributions.
Estimated Timeline for the Project
3 to 6 months per classroom/seminar room
Expected Impact
We believe that smart classrooms, equipped with the latest technology, will allow students and faculties to utilize their maximum potential. The proposed project will encompass the construction and outfitting of classrooms with advanced features such as:
- Interactive smartboards and wireless system
- Audio-visual systems for multimedia presentations
- Improved accessibility of educational resources;
- Video conferencing and recording tools for conducting lectures in hybrid mode.
Due to this project, the department and Institute will be benefitted in conducting guest lectures or parallel sessions of conferences.
