About Scholarship

The IIT (BHU) Foundation Scholarship is made possible through the IIT (BHU) Access Fund. The Access Fund was established in 2021 with a seed funding of $2 Million from IIT (BHU) alumni, Mr. Nikesh Arora, and the Palo Alto Network Foundation. The seed donation enabled the creation of a dedicated fund to provide a variety of support services for the current student body at IIT (BHU) and supports its mission to be a transformative force in technical education in India.

The very first scholarship under the Access Fund is a means-based scholarship providing full ride, four years of tuition and medical insurance coverage for qualified applicants. The scholarship also aims to increase participation of women in engineering. Your donations to the IIT (BHU) Access Fund are key in expanding the number of scholarships available to students. Please consider making a contribution of $1,000 for each of the next four years to support the education of a deserving student. It is a four-year commitment, but it has the potential to change the course of an otherwise deserving student. Your contributions may even be tax deductible.

Coming from a lower middle-class family, money was not something that had been available for me, even for the most essential needs like education. So, good grades, strong will, and a slight glimmer of self-belief were the only things that we were left with. I was really anxious about study expenses at IIT (BHU), but that is no longer the case due to this scholarship. I’m really glad and I have begun believing in the well-versed quote, “Opportunities comes with in the way when life seems most challenging.”

I am honored to receive the IIT BHU Foundation scholarship. It allows me to continue my career at IIT BHU despite having an economic crisis in my family. Earlier, I was prioritizing Free-lancing and Campus placements in Non-Core to support my family and reduce the burden of finances from my father’s shoulder. Now, I am focusing on my academics, upskilling myself and planning to do higher studies and research in Biomedical Engineering and if possible willing to start an Entrepreneurship journey in the healthcare sector. I hope to become an active, generous alumni someday. Thanks IIT BHU Foundation for the scholarship.

I am Swati Gupta, a student of IIT BHU Electronics Department. I want to say thanks for the IIT BHU Foundation scholarship and to Nikesh Arora sir. This scholarship helps me to complete my studies without any hurdles. As my financial condition is not very good, in this condition the scholarship will be very useful to me. My father is the only  working person in my family and he can marginally earn a little money. He also has to teach me, my brother, and sister. In this case the aid which I get from this scholarship will also relax my father and I could be able to fulfill my dreams without any further problems. Thank you.
