The Student Activity Center for Sports is planned to set up at the heart of the Institute from the gift made by our esteemed alumnus, Mr. Ramesh Srinivasan (Metallurgy 1982, President & CEO Agilysys (Nasdaq: AGYS)). With an intent to benefit the students and faculty of this all-residential campus, the center is planned to have all the facilities to cater to sports enthusiasts.
The two-storey center will consist of following amenities on each floor:
Ground Floor: Badminton hall (4 courts), 2 Squash courts, 1 Gym, 2 Offices, and 2 Locker rooms.
First Floor: 2 Taekwondo rings, 2 Boxing rings, 1 Carrom, 1 Chess and 2 Locker rooms.
Second Floor: 2 TT tables for faculty and 3 for students, along with 1 Hall, 1 Yoga hall and 2 Locker rooms.A student expressing her excitement for the upcoming center said, “Being a part of the badminton team myself, I believe it’s a much-needed project, and I’m not over-exaggerating when I say SAC is like a dream. I think it’s amazing and it was long overdue.”
